No Foot baths?
Ok, I’ll try this again. I have no problem with anyone practicing their faith. What ever that faith is. But I just belive there is a time and a place for it. I just think by the school allowing the footbath thing, they are playing favorites for one religion over the others and is that really fair? First its the airports, schools. What next? I mean what if it interferes with them doing their jobs and putting customers on hold is that fair to the customers? Again I have no problems with their religion, but don’t do it at the expense of doing your job, or interfering in anyone elses job. Or doing in a place that’s for learning. And by the way I thought we had Separation of church and State in thid country, or do we?
How about READ YOUR CONSTITUTION… The words separation of church and state do not appear anywhere in that document.
There are two statements about religion. The “Establishment” clause & The “Free Practice” clause.
They are:
1) Congress shall pass NO LAW establishing a state religion.
This means that there is not supposed to be an OFFICIAL religion that everyone has to practice. This was done because of the Church of England, where the queen is “Head of the Church, Defender of the Faith”
The other is:
2) Congress shall pass NO LAW prohibiting the free practice of ANY religion.
This means that you can practice your faith in any way that you chose to do so, and no one has anything to say about it.
Think about these statements for a while, and reflect on the fact that this is what it means to be an American. Then ask yourself if you should actually be asking the questions that you are.
Don’t you think that the school being closed for Christmas and Easter is playing favorites with one religion over the others?
