Hemorrhoids; How many days should I wait before seeing a doctor?

I began having symptoms on Sunday. I been soaking and application of medicines, but the swelling has not decreased. Not any more, but it becomes not smaller. Today it is 5 days I have suffered. I have to sit for long periods of time and then remain standing for long time my work. Is it doing last longer than the usual 2-3 days?
