Do chronic fatigue and fibromyalgia always go hand in hand?
I think I have Chronic fatigue since all my tests have come back healthy. I am always tired but dont experience the pain symptoms associated with fibromyalgia. Is it possible to have one without the other?
I am being treated for depression and feel great mood wise. The med seems to be the right level. No major depressive episodes in over a year.
I had a sleep study done that showed I wasn’t getting REM sleep which they felt was due to the adderall. I went through withdrawl after stopping the adderall (over 6 months ago) and its still just as bad. I’ve also been tested for allergies, oxygen saturation level, blood count and my thyroid. I dont have the pain however, but I’m at a loss. I don’t know which doctor to go see next. This is becoming unbareable.

but since tehy are both hard to diagnose and have very similar symptoms–many docs just automatically diagnose both
there is even a possibility that they are the same condition–just with a variation of the primary condition–like Type 1 and Type 2 (like ADD is a variation of ADHD)
did you fully examine your lifestyle–i assume you had a sleep study-have you been screened for depression–so you have otehr symptoms (there is more than fatigue to CFIDS)
you CAN have FMS without CFIDS–a small number of people with FMS do NOT have fatigue–there is some evidence that there is a problem with REM seep and FMS–but nothing conclusive—
and just because you have chronic fatigue as a result of FMS—doesn’t mena you have CFIDS
